Finally! A New "Friend"

It's been a bit of a dry patch, I know. David is busy and travels a lot. Most of my sexual energy has been inwardly directed at my book. So, the outside adventures, and even the kinky private play, has dwindled (as you've no doubt noticed!). However, recently there has been a wonderful new "development" in a potential new play partner!

I'll get into that in a moment, after some tangential musings...

I started this blog when I was in my early thirties and on a massive journey of discovery around BDSM play. It's now 11 years on, I'm in my forties, and somehow the drive and opportunities are just not there like they used to be. A commenter recently posted,

I know, I know!

When I first started blogging, it was a very vibrant scene. Bonnie's My Bottom Smarts blog, which was a central rallying point for BDSM blogs, is now mothballed. Recently, she wrote,

For most of the past 17 years, this blog has been my home in cyberspace, my refuge from the insanity of daily life, and the place where I could share all my kinky thoughts with like-minded friends. It served me well.

But things have changed – My priorities, our lives, readership, politics, technology, and the world. After lots of thought, spirited conversations, and a few tears, we’ve decided it’s time to walk away.

Many blogs have fallen by the wayside, with relatively few replacing them. Shoutout to anybody starting out a new one, like Butt Stuff or the Sims4 BDSM blog. And shoutout to some old-timers hanging in there, like me!

My page views have mostly held up over time.

(That sudden drop in Jan 2019 seems to be a change in the way Blogger collects data, because it doesn't show up in Google Analytics (that I added later) at all.)

And I keep attracting new users. About 30,000 per month, despite everything. I think it's because I have a vast treasure trove of posts over the past 11 years more than about my current output!

But, there's less engagement in the comments. I blame it on the destruction of our attention spans, which includes the movement away from the more text-heavy posts to more picture posts or short video clips. I don't know how these young Tik-Tokers have the energy to incessantly produce their vacuous little clips!

But we shall soldier on until the Blogger Platform tires of us!

And on that note, I had a marvellous recent development. I made a new friend!

I gave up my downtown gym membership a while ago. I kept paying them for a time during COVID even though they were shut down, but it looks like they're not coming back, and I live more uptown and my job has gone 100% virtual, so I quit them about a year or so back and have been working out on my own at home (we have a small but decently equipped basement gym).

The other day I noticed a second floor fitness place had popped up right near me, so I decided to start doing some classes there in the middle of the day. There's a leader (a woman) who sets up "stations" for us. About a half-dozen people usually show up, mostly women. The leader controls the playlist, times it out, encourages us, pushes us, and corrects our form (not mine - she's very complimentary of mine!). Most of the women are a bit older than me, and less fit. But one of the regulars is a bit younger than me, in her mid-thirties. So I'm closest in age and experience to her, and we get along well, always chatting before and after class. And a bit more...

Yeah, was getting some "vibes" from her (as in lesbo let's get it on vibes). I think we've both upped our game on our sexy gym attire. I noticed a new outfit on her, and complimented her on it, "looking HOT babe!" - high five. I bought a new outfit for myself as well, thinking of her when I bought it. She noticed and returned the compliment. We check each other out during class. We high five and hug at the end, hot and sweaty. Oh, I'm feelin' it!

We decided to go out for lunch, and more recently dinner, just she and I. They felt like dates. We're both married. She has young kids. Just girls night out, honey.

We have not kissed yet. I'd love to, but I'm nervous as a schoolgirl! What if she recoils and says, "you've got the wrong idea."

We've talked about our husbands. She complains about hers. I made a roundabout comment: "you need to whip him into shape, with a real whip!" She said, "I'd LOVE to." Ha ha ha. Move on. Nothing to see here.
