Trump Dodges a Bullet

 The man is unstoppable!

A bullet narrowly missed taking Former (and future?) President Trump's head off. He was speaking at a rally in Pennsylvania. He turned his head to look at a graphic on the big screen, and the millisecond he turned back, a bullet that otherwise would have taken off the back of his head instead took a small chunk out of his right ear. It was almost miraculous.

Unfortunately three crowd members were shot. One, Corey Comperatore, died while shielding his wife and daughter.

The shooter was taken out quickly by snipers, and Secret Service pushed Trump to the ground, knocking his shoes off and bruising his arm. As they tried to shield him from potential shooters and hurry him away, Trump resisted and raised his fist defiantly, shouting "Fight! Fight! Fight!", whereupon the panicked crowd calmed and began chanting "USA! USA! USA!".

Trump defined courage and leadership in this moment, which was very badass! Anyone on the fence has been endorsing Trump as a result, and many Dems even are waking up.

The shooter is some 20 year old kid who took one of his Dad's rifles. We don't yet know much about him. We know he donated to a Democrat Org (but that could have been he lost a bet or something), and we know he registered as a Republican (but that could have been he registered to vote against Trump in the primaries, as many Dems did).

It's a huge failure of Secret Service to let a shooter get into position on a rooftop 150 yards away and setup long enough to take a shot. Either that or some kind of inside job where someone at the Secret Service knew that something like this was bound to happen eventually and let it play out. Personally, I chock it up to incompetent leadership at the Secret Service who are now finger pointing at local law enforcement, taking zero accountability. The Secret Service has recently been on a DEI kick trying to hire 50% women, which is their main focus. Of course you'll bring in unqualified agents and leadership when likely 95% of qualified applicants for recruitment and promotion are male. Simple math.

A lot of responsibility falls to Democrat politicians and the left leaning mainstream media whose rhetoric has been over the top — Biden himself being one of the worst offenders — painting Trump as some sort of Hitler figure. It created a dangerous situation where some unbalanced person was bound to do something like that. Regardless of what the shooter's motive was, the truth of this point is plain as day.

Trump was golfing next morning and was reputed to have sunk a 20' putt with a 2' break and declared "unlike the shooter, I don't miss". 😆

He went off to the Republican National Convention as planned, and became the official nominee, picking JD Vance, Senator from Ohio, as his running mate. JD came from an impoverished background, is a marine veteran, graduated Yale Law, and was a successful high tech business man. He's 39 years old. He's also assasination protection for Trump, as JD would go harder against the deep state even than Trump.

Nothing controversial here. Both sides want the border sealed and to stop the flow of illegal migrants. The policy speaks to legal migration as well, and wants a merit based system.

Red meat for the base. I expect they'll focus on the criminals and gangs and there won't be the broad support to deport anybody else.

3. END INFLATION, AND MAKE AMERICA AFFORDABLE AGAIN

Easier said than done with a $30T debt. They claim they will do it by growing the economy through tax cuts, energy independence, eliminating useless regulations, pursuing high tech (crypto, AI, space), while reducing wasteful govt spending. I approve of all those things, though.

4. MAKE AMERICA THE DOMINANT ENERGY PRODUCER IN THE WORLD, BY FAR!

Absolutely. 100%. Will be very anti-inflationary and make the US less dependent. Catastrophic Climate change due to FF is not real, and even if it were, less developed countries will continue accelerating their use, swamping any first world reductions.

5. STOP OUTSOURCING, AND TURN THE UNITED STATES INTO A MANUFACTURING SUPERPOWER

Yes. Over-dependence on China and Taiwan, US enemies. Makes the US vulnerable.

6. LARGE TAX CUTS FOR WORKERS, AND NO TAX ON TIPS!

No tax on tips is to try and win Nevada. Sure. They largely don't pay tax on tips anyways. All in favour of tax cuts to stimulate the economy and reduce the size of govt.

7. DEFEND OUR CONSTITUTION, OUR BILL OF RIGHTS, AND OUR FUNDAMENTAL FREEDOMS, INCLUDING FREEDOM OF SPEECH, FREEDOM OF RELIGION, AND THE RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS

100% needed to be said.

8. PREVENT WORLD WAR THREE, RESTORE PEACE IN EUROPE AND IN THE MIDDLE EAST, AND BUILD A GREAT IRON DOME MISSILE DEFENSE SHIELD OVER OUR ENTIRE COUNTRY -- ALL MADE IN AMERICA

Yes, please! Remember how peaceful the world was last time Trump was in, and how unsafe it's become under Biden? The missile shield I disagree with. I think that's a sop to the military industrial complex.

9. END THE WEAPONIZATION OF GOVERNMENT AGAINST THE AMERICAN PEOPLE

Yes, please! Biden DOJ has gone nuts in this regard. Nice to see this commitment in writing rather than a tit-for-tat revenge play.

10. STOP THE MIGRANT CRIME EPIDEMIC, DEMOLISH THE FOREIGN DRUG CARTELS, CRUSH GANG VIOLENCE, AND LOCK UP VIOLENT OFFENDERS

Yes to all. A priority.

11. REBUILD OUR CITIES, INCLUDING WASHINGTON DC, MAKING THEM SAFE, CLEAN, AND BEAUTIFUL AGAIN.

Hard to see how as most are Dem led. Would be better to see a focus on building new cities from the ground up as Trump spoke about earlier.

12. STRENGTHEN AND MODERNIZE OUR MILITARY, MAKING IT, WITHOUT QUESTION, THE STRONGEST AND MOST POWERFUL IN THE WORLD

Yes, I grudgingly agree. Peace through strength.

13. KEEP THE U.S. DOLLAR AS THE WORLD'S RESERVE CURRENCY

Would be great if possible, but no details given. If pursued through diplomacy and commitments to not weaponize the U.S. currency against adversaries, then great. 

14. FIGHT FOR AND PROTECT SOCIAL SECURITY AND MEDICARE WITH NO CUTS, INCLUDING NO CHANGES TO THE RETIREMENT AGE

Red meat, and great, but maybe unrealistic for any party to promise this.

15. CANCEL THE ELECTRIC VEHICLE MANDATE AND CUT COSTLY AND BURDENSOME REGULATIONS

That mandate is stupid. Let the free market have at it. Lessening regulations is great. Trump eliminated many duplicates his first term. Keep going.

16. CUT FEDERAL FUNDING FOR ANY SCHOOL PUSHING CRITICAL RACE THEORY, RADICAL GENDER IDEOLOGY, AND OTHER INAPPROPRIATE RACIAL, SEXUAL, OR POLITICAL CONTENT ON OUR CHILDREN

The detailed policy points cover a more positive approach to improving education and making it more accessible. But yes, this too!

17. KEEP MEN OUT OF WOMEN'S SPORTS

18. DEPORT PRO-HAMAS RADICALS AND MAKE OUR COLLEGE CAMPUSES SAFE AND PATRIOTIC AGAIN

I too dislike these "protesters of convenience", but this is silly. You can't deport American citizens, and you can't criminalize legal protest. No mention of this in the rest of the doc. Red meat for the base.

19. SECURE OUR ELECTIONS, INCLUDING SAME DAY VOTING, VOTER IDENTIFICATION, PAPER BALLOTS, AND PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP

Obvi. Democrats oppose this, leading me to believe they benefit most from insecure elections.

20. UNITE OUR COUNTRY BY BRINGING IT TO NEW AND RECORD LEVELS OF SUCCESS
